The open-access, double-blind peer-reviewed Obrana a strategie (Defence & Strategy) journal (founded in 2001) is published by the University of Defence, a state military university with a long tradition in scientific research in the field of defence and security and in cooperation with the partners from civilian universities and other reputable scientific centres in the Czech Republic and abroad.
It is published regularly twice a year, on June 15th and December 15th, in an online form on www.defenceandstrategy.eu and with a monthly delay in a printed version (in circulation of 330 copies per issue). The paper copies are distributed specifically to the Czech Ministry of Defence department, to selected institutions of state administration in the Czech Republic, domestic and foreign universities and colleges, research organizations, think-tanks, libraries, databases and other clients.
We accept original contributions in Czech, Slovak and English for publishing. The journal is internally divided into articles, forum, book reviews, and information service. The articles comply with the highest demands for quality and expertise of the author, they must meet the required quality and formal criteria and are subject to obligatory peer-review process. Forum is another part of the journal, which allows a less strict treatment of current or topical professional problems or familiarizing with the current documents. Each issue provides space for reviews of domestic and foreign publications, and information service.
The journal is registered by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic under no. MK ČR E 16787 a Czech ISSN National Centre under ISSN 1214-6463 (print) and ISSN 1802-7199 (online).
