Born in 1978. Tomáš Karásek earned his master degree and Ph.D. in International Relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University in Prague (where he also graduated from the Law Faculty). Since 2004 he has been a lecturer at the Faculty’s Department of International Relations, teaching courses on the resolution of international conflicts, security and integration in Europe, international security and global terrorism. He has been actively involved in research activities of the Department and has coordinated several grants. In his research he focuses on the development and theoretical reflection of the foreign, security and defence policy of the European Union, particularly in the context of EU eastern enlargement. His other topics of interest include transatlantic relations, U.S. foreign policy and new security threats.
