National and international security 2011

Security and Defence Department of the Armed Forces Academy of General M. R. Štefánik in Liptovský Mikuláš will arrange the 2nd international scientific conference “National and international security 2011” that will be organized on 18th – 19th October 2011 in Liptovský Mikuláš, Slovakia.

The event is held under the auspices of the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic PhDr. Róbert Ondrejcsák, PhD. And Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic Gen. Ing. Ľubomír Bulík, CSc.

The objective of the conference is to assess the current state of development of national and international security and aspects of its new direction and will be aimed especially at following topics:

- actual problems of contemporary international relations and shaping the global security environment (global threats and global problems of humanity at the beginning of the 21st century; asymmetric armed conflict as a security phenomenon, world biggest actors approach to solving global problems, comprehensive approach to crisis management - joint participation military and non-military actors, human rights observance and protection, democracy development);

- national security as an object of research and the formation and implementation of national security policy (national security system and crisis management; formation of internal national security system; legislation and strategy documents preparation; the armed forces of a democratic state participation in ensuring internal security);

- position and role of the armed forces in conflict prevention and resolution - requirements for current and future capabilities of the armed forces;

- contemporary security science and its development.
