Slovak Atlantic Commission is an independent non-governmental organization active in the area of domestic and international policy and security. SAC aspires on active and constructive engagement of Slovak Republic in international relations. It emphasizes the cooperation in selected regions and issues where experiences and expertise of a Central European country could bring significant value. Through projects, associated experts and cooperation with governmental and non-government institutions, as well as private organisations, it strives for effective growth of young professionals. SAC has begun its operation in 1993 when it became also the observer and the associate member of the multinational non-governmental organisation Atlantic Treaty Association (ATA). In 2004 the Slovak Atlantic Commission became a full-fledged member. Thanks to its strong international status, the activities of the SAC have tangible impact not only on Slovakia, but also on the region of Central Europe and transatlantic relations. Flagship projects of the SAC:
is one of five strategic conferences, which shapes the transatlantic foreign policy and security agenda with emphasis on the region of Central Europe.
is an analytical centre which associates experts from a number of Central European countries. CEPI focuses mostly on issues of foreign policy, security, defence, economy and energy. CEPI resides in Bratislava.
is a programme oriented on transfer of Slovak experiences from the transformation and accession processes to the NATO and the EU. Slovak know-how is being transferred to the countries of the Balkans and Eastern Partnership.
enables students and young professionals to deepen their knowledge and experience within projects, research fellowships and scholarships both at home and abroad.
